However, the studio took the public feedback very seriously. As a result, they decided to establish a clearer boundary between the core, game-related content and what they consider “experimental content,” which is the area where they are currently experimenting with new technologies.
When addressing the wider implications of AI, the team stressed that technology should be viewed as a tool, not a replacement for human creativity. Lee argued that the purpose of using these tools must be to support developers’ know-how and skills, ultimately leading to the creation of great, high-quality games.
This philosophy aligns with the broader context of the studio’s work. Earlier, Shift Up CEO Kim Hyung Tae had expressed a strong belief that AI was essential for South Korean studios to compete effectively on the global stage against larger US and Chinese counterparts.
